Luciad’s state-of-the-art aeronautical information display technology provides the human operator with high performance and precise 4D topology and dynamic geometric operations, critical components to achieve System Wide Information Management, making collaborative decision-making a reality. Fully aligned with EUROCONTROL and FAA specifications, extensive research has already resulted in the world’s first available commercial implementation of the AIXM 5 standard.
Luciad is committed to support AIXM in its LuciadMap product line from the start. The LuciadMap AIXM specialized package currently provides support for AIXM 3.3, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.1. The package will follow closely the evolution of the AIXM 5 specification, so that it can be used from early developments right up to operational systems when AIXM 5 becomes mainstream.
Currently, the AIXM package is used in the EUROCONTROL Digital SNOWTAM trial, EUROCONTROL Skyview 2, and the FAA Special User Air Spaces project. Luciad's AIXM package is also featured in the OGC OWS-7 initiative for research on AIXM 5.1 and WXXM in an OGC web services environment.
