About Release Candidate 1

Release Candidate 1 (Issue Date: 24 January 2007) is a publicly available distribution of the full AIXM 5 Conceptual Model and XML Schema. This release candidate is provided "as is" and is subject to change by the AIXM 5 design team to correct technical implementation and aeronautical domain modelling errors. Eventual corrections to AIXM RC 1 will keep the name "Release Candidate 1", but will get another issue date.

More important changes, such as inclusion of new features and significant changes of the current feature definitions, will only be made in the next release candidate. It is planned to issue a second release candidate (AIXM RC 2) by June 2007.

AIXM RC 1 (Issue Date: 24 January 2007) has the following known issues:
Unvalidated profile of GML 3.2
Incorporation of the full standard ISO19139 metadata model instead of the Metadata model profile described in the Metadata profile document
Additional features and attributes are necessary in order to support temporary status changes such as those reported in NOTAMs.
Users are encouraged to provide feedback on the AIXM Forum.
